Katie Nolan is a motivated millennial with 4+ years experience in writing, editing, and content marketing.
Currently, she is an editor at BobVila.com, a home and garden website developed by America’s first TV home renovator Bob Vila. Katie balances a variety of responsibilities including: managing social media, writing and editing e-commerce content, and editing slideshows for syndication on MSN.
Prior to BV, Katie interned at Good Housekeeping magazine and the entertainment marketing company The SuperFan Company (called ZinePak when she was there). At Good Housekeeping, she assisted with the 130th-anniversary issue and once carried 17 pineapples from Columbus Circle to Hearst Tower for a photoshoot. For The SuperFan Company, Katie developed project ideas and proposals for potential clients, created BuzzFeed listicles to promote the brand and upcoming projects, and wrote and edited projects.
Katie graduated from Loyola University Maryland in May 2016 where she earned her degree in communication with a double specialization in journalism and PR and a minor in marketing. At Loyola, she was the EIC of the yearbook, copy chief of the newspaper, and an orientation leader (but not the annoying kind like in the movies).
The HGTV-centric home and garden vertical is just a piece of Katie’s interest in pop culture. Whether it’s movies or music, sports or social media, she’s fascinated by the impact these things have on our society and is obsessive about making sure she’s the first to know about it.
